CMRS to inspect Delhi Metro Pink Line elevated section next week

The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will undertake inspections of the 7.5-kilometre elevated portion of the Delhi Metro Pink Line from October 6 to 8, according to project officials. The inspection forms part of the mandatory safety verification process required before the metro line can be cleared for commercial operations.

The Pink Line, which will connect Majlis Park in North Delhi to Shiv Vihar, has been under construction for several years. The elevated section being inspected represents a significant stretch of the corridor and its clearance by the CMRS is essential for progression toward the line's opening.

The CMRS inspection encompasses a thorough examination of track infrastructure, signalling systems, structural integrity, and safety mechanisms across the designated section. These inspections are statutory requirements under Indian railway regulations and ensure that the metro system meets all prescribed safety standards before passenger operations commence.

Successful completion of the CMRS inspection could pave the way for the Pink Line's inauguration, providing enhanced connectivity across Delhi's north and east regions. The project has faced multiple delays since its inception, making timely clearance a priority for metro authorities.
