A tragic incident claimed the life of a CNG taxi driver in Barabanki district on Tuesday when his vehicle erupted into flames while traveling on the road. The victim, identified as Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Pyarepur village, was unable to escape the rapidly spreading fire that engulfed the moving vehicle.
Kumar was operating the vehicle on a return journey from Lucknow airport, where he had just dropped off passengers. According to preliminary reports, the fire broke out suddenly while the car was in motion, trapping the driver inside as the flames spread through the vehicle.
Local authorities reached the scene following reports of the incident, but Kumar was pronounced dead at the location. Rescue personnel confirmed that the intensity of the fire made it impossible for him to escape the vehicle. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined and remains under investigation by local officials.
