CALAPAN CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard Station Occidental Mindoro (CGSOM) has mounted a search and rescue operation for two fishermen reported missing in waters off Calavite, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.
The missing men have been identified as Rolando Rodriguez, 59, and Armando De Ladia, 50, both from Sitio Balibago 2 in Barangay Armado. They departed the area to engage in fishing operations but failed to return as scheduled.
The Coast Guard Station Occidental Mindoro has called on residents and maritime operators in the region to report any sightings or information that could aid in locating the two fishermen. Search efforts continue in the fishing grounds where the men were last known to be operating.
The incident adds to ongoing concerns about maritime safety in the region, where fishing communities regularly operate in Philippine waters.
