COE prices decline across most categories in latest tender round

Most categories of Certificates of Entitlement retreated in the latest bidding round, reflecting softer demand in Singapore's controlled vehicle market. The open category was the sole exception, maintaining its premium at S$137,000, while other segments experienced notable decreases.

The mixed results underscore the ongoing volatility in COE prices, which fluctuate based on supply and demand dynamics in each vehicle class. Smaller car categories, which typically appeal to cost-conscious buyers, registered among the sharper declines, suggesting easing pressure in that segment.

Motorcycle COE premiums also declined, continuing a trend observed in recent months as interest in two-wheeler purchases remains subdued. The declines across multiple categories may provide relief to vehicle buyers who have faced elevated costs in preceding months.

The next bidding exercise will provide further indicators of market sentiment, as buyers and dealers assess prevailing economic conditions and vehicle ownership costs. Industry analysts continue to monitor COE trends closely for signals about consumer confidence in Singapore's automotive sector.
