Colombo court to rule on Namal Rajapaksa's bail application November 3

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama set the date for the court order following submissions presented by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and related parties in the case.

Rajapaksa, a Member of Parliament, has been held in remand custody pending the court's determination on his bail eligibility. The case centers on allegations connected to the Krrish transaction, which has drawn scrutiny from investigating authorities.

The chief magistrate's decision to defer the ruling to November 3 comes after considering arguments from both the prosecution and defense counsel during recent court proceedings. The outcome of the bail application will determine whether Rajapaksa can secure release pending further legal proceedings.

The case has generated significant public attention given the prominence of the accused and the nature of the allegations under investigation. The November 3 court order is expected to provide clarity on the next phase of the legal proceedings.
