Colombo International Book Fair opens for ten-day run

The Colombo International Book Fair 2026 opened today at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, with the Sri Lanka Book Publishers' Association (SLBPA) overseeing the annual event.

The fair will remain open to the public daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm through October 4, providing a full ten days for visitors to browse, purchase and explore the latest releases and classic titles. The event is expected to attract significant crowds, continuing its tradition of drawing substantial visitor numbers year after year.

The book fair serves as a major platform for local and regional publishers, authors, and reading enthusiasts to connect and engage with the publishing industry. The extended operating hours accommodate both daytime and evening visitors, making the event accessible to readers across different schedules.
