Commercial LPG prices have jumped by ₹62.50 per 19-kilogramme cylinder from October 1, marking a significant increase in costs for businesses and industrial users. Aviation turbine fuel prices have risen by ₹16 per litre during the same period, reflecting broader shifts in global energy markets and domestic pricing mechanisms.
In contrast, domestic LPG cylinder prices for household consumers have remained stable, insulating the general public from immediate cost pressures. The government has maintained the domestic cylinder price to avoid passing on the burden to ordinary consumers reliant on LPG for cooking and heating.
Simultaneously, the government has reduced windfall taxes on diesel and ATF exports for the fortnight through October 15, providing relief to the energy sector. The move aims to balance fiscal revenues with industry concerns over export competitiveness and international pricing dynamics.
These adjustments reflect the government's dual approach of managing inflation for domestic consumers while ensuring price competitiveness for commercial operators and exporters. The changes in commercial rates are expected to impact transportation costs, industrial operations, and aviation services across the region.
