The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee's Secretariat has decided to expel Su Ngọc Anh from the party as a disciplinary measure, according to official announcements. Su previously served as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and held the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee within the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, as well as Deputy Director of the department itself.
The expulsion marks the latest in a series of high-profile party disciplinary actions targeting officials across Vietnam's government and state-owned enterprises. Recent weeks have seen the removal of other senior figures, including a former deputy general director of national airline Vietnam Airlines and officials from the health and provincial administration sectors.
The party has intensified its anti-corruption and discipline enforcement mechanisms in recent years, targeting members found to have violated party regulations or engaged in conduct deemed detrimental to the organization's standing. Officials expelled from the Communist Party face significant career and social consequences, as party membership remains central to advancement in Vietnam's political and administrative hierarchy.
No further details regarding the specific violations that prompted Su's expulsion have been made public in official statements.
