Perikatan Nasional president Hamzah Zainudin has declared that component parties engaging in independent negotiations should consider leaving the coalition, emphasising the need for unified decision-making across the alliance.
Hamzah stated that member parties have an obligation to respect the directives of their coalition leaders rather than pursuing individual agendas. He underscored that functioning as a cohesive bloc requires adherence to collective leadership decisions, not unilateral action by component parties.
The remarks come as the PN coalition continues to navigate the complex dynamics of Malaysia's multi-party political landscape. The coalition, which comprises several political entities, has been working to maintain internal discipline and present a unified front in parliamentary and state-level politics.
Hamzah's statement signals the administration's commitment to enforcing coalition discipline and preventing member parties from undermining the broader strategic objectives of PN. The coalition leadership has indicated that parties unwilling to abide by collective decisions face potential expulsion from the alliance.
The warning reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen PN's political cohesion as the coalition positions itself ahead of potential electoral contests and policy initiatives at both federal and state levels.
