Congress accuses government of systematic voter removal ahead of elections

The Congress party launched a sharp attack on the government Tuesday, alleging that a systematic process of voter removal has stripped crores of citizens of their constitutional right to vote. Party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh characterised the process as an orchestrated effort, using the term 'Shahenshah Instigated Removal' to describe what he claims is a coordinated campaign. Ramesh contended that the scale of removals from electoral rolls represents a fundamental violation of democratic principles and constitutional guarantees. The allegations come amid heightened political tensions over electoral administration and voter registration practices across the country. Congress has indicated it intends to pursue the matter through legal channels, with party officials reportedly preparing to file formal complaints with relevant authorities regarding the alleged voter purges.
