Congress Councillor Shot Dead in Punjab Over Old Dispute

A Congress councillor was shot dead in Punjab in what authorities believe was a premeditated attack stemming from an old dispute between the parties involved. The victim was pursued on his motorcycle before the attackers opened fire, according to preliminary reports.

Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu confirmed that investigators have identified the perpetrators and are actively pursuing their arrest. "The two parties had an old dispute. The attackers have been identified and our teams have been formed. We will arrest them as soon as possible," Sidhu said.
