Congress leader alleges misuse of ED, I-T in Karnataka KPSC probe

Karnataka Congress leader Priyank Kharge has alleged that federal agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department, are being misused to target Congress leaders in connection with the ongoing KPSC recruitment case, marking an escalation in accusations of political vendetta.

Kharge's allegations come as the state's Central Crime Branch, investigating an alleged sting operation video purportedly targeting former chief minister Siddaramaiah, discovered links connecting the case to Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy's official residence in New Delhi.

The development has intensified political tensions in Karnataka, with the Congress party raising fresh concerns about the impartiality of central agencies in handling matters related to state-level political disputes. The party has previously alleged selective prosecution in high-profile cases.

The KPSC recruitment controversy has remained a contentious issue in Karnataka politics, with multiple agencies conducting parallel investigations. The alleged sting operation and its purported connections have added another layer of complexity to the ongoing probe.
