Congress leader draws mythological parallel in BJP critique during Goa visit

During a visit to Goa, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy characterised the political contest between the Congress and BJP using references to the Hindu epic Ramayana, positioning his party as the force for good against what he termed misgovernance.

Reddy alleged that BJP administration in Goa had facilitated the state's emergence as a major drugs trafficking centre, which he claimed had created cascading problems for neighbouring regions including Telangana. The Chief Minister contended that drug-related issues affecting his state were a direct consequence of the BJP's governance failures in the coastal state.

The comments reflect the Congress party's broader criticism of BJP-ruled states, with Reddy seeking to draw a contrast between the two parties' approaches to governance and law enforcement. His remarks come as the Congress intensifies its political outreach across different regions ahead of upcoming electoral contests.

The issue of drug trafficking and its inter-state dimensions remains a significant policy concern for several governments in India, with states frequently citing the need for coordinated efforts to tackle the problem.
