Aradhana Mishra, commonly known as Mona, has emerged as a frontrunner for the Uttar Pradesh Congress presidency, according to party circles. The legislator from Rampur has served three consecutive terms representing her constituency and currently holds the position of Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader in the state assembly.
Mishra is the daughter of veteran Congress leader Pramod Tiwari and brings over two decades of political experience to the potential role. She has been instrumental in party operations across western Uttar Pradesh and is credited with maintaining Congress presence in a traditionally competitive region.
Known for her proximity to senior party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mishra played an active role in Gandhi's 'Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon' (I am a girl, I can fight) campaign aimed at women's empowerment and social issues. Her involvement in grassroots mobilization has strengthened her standing within party leadership.
The potential appointment would mark a significant development in Congress organizational restructuring in Uttar Pradesh, a state where the party has been seeking to rebuild its organizational strength and legislative presence.
