Congress MLAs slam BRS remarks about Telangana Speaker, seek KCR apology

Congress members of the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday condemned remarks allegedly made by BRS MLC Madhu concerning K. Chandrasekhar Rao's attendance in the House. According to Congress legislators, the BRS MLC claimed that the former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi president was absenting himself from Assembly sessions due to his reluctance to address the Speaker using the customary honorific.

The Congress delegation characterized the reported statement as disrespectful to the constitutional position of the Assembly Speaker and the dignity of the legislative institution. Party members argued that such remarks undermined parliamentary norms and the respect due to constitutional offices, regardless of political affiliations.

The Congress has formally demanded that K. Chandrasekhar Rao issue a public apology for the comments attributed to his party colleague. The demand reflects escalating tensions between the Congress and BRS over matters of parliamentary decorum and legislative conduct in the state Assembly.
