Congress veteran P. Chidambaram on Tuesday categorically rejected allegations leveled by the BJP that the opposition is attempting to forcibly change the government through violent demonstrations. Speaking to media, Chidambaram said the Congress party firmly believes in conducting its political opposition through non-violent and Gandhian principles. The senior leader's remarks come as tensions remain high between the ruling coalition and opposition parties over recent protest movements across the country. Chidambaram emphasized that the Congress has consistently adhered to constitutional and peaceful methods in voicing dissent against government policies. He accused the BJP of mischaracterizing legitimate democratic opposition as a threat to national stability, a charge he said was both inaccurate and inflammatory.
