Union Minister Chirag Pawan launched a sharp attack on the Congress party on Tuesday, asserting that the opposition will be unable to form a government even by 2034. Speaking at a political event, Pawan accused Congress of attempting to create instability and anarchy in the country, presenting it as a threat to national interests.
"Congress will not come to power in 2029, let alone 2034," Pawan said, expressing confidence in what he characterized as the enduring political dominance of the ruling dispensation. His remarks reflected the intensifying verbal exchanges between the BJP-led government and the principal opposition party ahead of state and general elections.
Pawan also addressed the political positioning of his own party, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), particularly regarding its coalition strategy for upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. He indicated that the party would contest the state polls regardless of its formal alliance status with larger political formations, signaling his determination to maintain the party's independent electoral presence.
The minister's comments come amid heightened political polarization in Indian politics, with various parties positioning themselves ahead of the 2029 general elections and intervening state assembly contests. Pawan's strong language reflects broader patterns of competitive rhetoric between ruling and opposition coalitions across the country.
