The construction equipment industry has revised upward its growth projections for the fiscal year 2026-27, now targeting domestic sales expansion of 9-12 per cent. The upgraded forecast reflects improved momentum in infrastructure project execution across the country, which has bolstered confidence among manufacturers and equipment suppliers.
Industry participants attribute the optimistic outlook to better-than-expected progress on government-backed infrastructure initiatives and increased private sector investment in construction activities. This momentum has translated into stronger demand for equipment ranging from earthmoving machinery to concrete and material handling equipment.
Beyond domestic markets, the sector is positioned for robust export growth, with projections indicating a surge of around 30 per cent in overseas shipments. This anticipated export performance is expected to be driven by competitive pricing, improved delivery timelines, and growing demand from neighbouring Asian markets.
The upgraded growth forecast underscores the construction equipment industry's critical role in supporting India's infrastructure development agenda. With improved project execution rates and expanding export opportunities, manufacturers are expected to scale production capacities and invest in technological enhancements during the fiscal year.
