Dominador Labora, 51, of Purok Santan in Upper Pulacan, Labangan, was pronounced dead at the scene following the lightning strike on October 9. The construction worker was performing duties at a dumping facility in the municipality when severe weather conditions brought the fatal strike in the afternoon hours.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Labangan confirmed the fatality and provided identification of the victim. Local authorities responded to the incident and documented the circumstances surrounding the worker's death.

The incident underscores the occupational hazards faced by workers in outdoor industries during the region's monsoon period. Construction and waste management operations across Mindanao typically increase safety protocols during seasons prone to thunderstorms and electrical activity.
