Contractor error blamed for Taguig flood project coordinate mix-up
Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano attributed a geographical coordinate error in a Taguig City flood control initiative to contractor negligence on Monday. The misplaced coordinates initially pointed to Leyte instead of the intended project site.

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano said Monday that a contractor's mistake was responsible for erroneous geotag coordinates submitted for a flood control project designated for Taguig City.
The mix-up saw project coordinates pointing to Leyte province rather than the intended location in Taguig. Cayetano characterized the error as a contractor performance failure that required immediate rectification.
The coordinate discrepancy prompted Senator Panfilo Lacson to request validation of the flood control project from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The agency has been tasked with verifying the accuracy and legitimacy of the project details.
The incident highlights concerns over project documentation procedures and contractor accountability in infrastructure development. The DPWH is expected to conduct a thorough review to ensure the project's actual location and scope align with official records.
