Contractor links RM4.8m PPBM donation to Muhyiddin's assistance
A Bumiputera contractor has testified that he would not have made a substantial donation to PPBM without assistance from former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in securing a major government contract, the Jana Wibawa trial heard.

KUALA LUMPUR — A Bumiputera businessman has indicated a direct link between securing a RM62 million government project and his subsequent RM4.8 million donation to Bersatu (PPBM), during testimony in the Jana Wibawa corruption trial.
The contractor stated that the assistance provided by Muhyiddin Yassin, the former Prime Minister, was instrumental in his company obtaining the lucrative government contract. He told the court that without such support, he would not have made the substantial political donation to the party.
The revelation comes as part of ongoing legal proceedings into the Jana Wibawa development project, which has drawn scrutiny over the allocation of government funds and the circumstances surrounding major contract awards during Muhyiddin's tenure in office.
The trial continues to examine the relationship between government contracts, political donations, and decision-making within the corridors of power. Prosecutors have been investigating whether there were improper arrangements or quid pro quo agreements involving government projects and financial contributions to political parties.
