Cordelia Cruises targets India top-five global position by 2032

Cordelia Cruises is positioning India as a major player in the global cruise industry, with ambitions to secure a place among the top five markets by 2032, according to the company's President and Chief Executive Officer Jurgen Bailom.

Currently operating the Cordelia Empress and Cordelia Sky, the cruise operator is expanding its presence with the imminent arrival of the Cordelia Sun, expected to join the fleet earlier than originally scheduled. Bailom made the announcement during a press conference aboard the Cordelia Sky, which recently commenced commercial operations from Mumbai's port.

"We have three ships: two in operation, which are Empress and Sky, and Cordelia Sun is coming, most probably earlier than expected," Bailom said. The addition of the third vessel will significantly strengthen the company's capacity to serve India's growing cruise tourism market.

Beyond its current trio of ships, Cordelia Cruises is exploring further fleet expansion opportunities. However, the company has refrained from disclosing specific numbers regarding additional vessels, citing its recent listing on the stock exchange and resulting market regulations that govern such announcements.

The expansion reflects broader confidence in India's cruise tourism sector, which has emerged as an increasingly attractive market for both domestic and international travelers seeking leisure voyages along the country's extensive coastlines.
