Couple electrocuted attempting to clear rainwater from roof in Bihar

A 55-year-old man and his 50-year-old wife were electrocuted in Gopalganj district of Bihar on Tuesday while attempting to manage rainwater at a residential property under construction. Santosh Sah had climbed onto the roof to clear accumulated rainwater when he came into contact with a live electrical wire. His wife, Basanti Devi, rushed to assist him but also made contact with the live conductor. Local residents discovered the couple and immediately transported them to a nearby hospital, where medical staff declared both dead on arrival. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have not yet identified the source of the electrical hazard or whether safety protocols were in place at the construction site.
