KUALA LUMPUR — A High Court decision on Thursday granted Perikatan Nasional the right to pursue legal action against its indefinite suspension, yet the political coalition remains barred from conducting any activities until further notice.

The ruling allows PN to proceed with challenging the Registrar of Societies' suspension order, which has kept the coalition in a state of operational limbo. The court scheduled a stay application hearing for October 22, when PN's legal team will argue for the immediate lifting of restrictions on the coalition's operations.

Until that hearing concludes, Perikatan Nasional must continue operating under the suspension. The coalition has maintained that the RoS order was issued without proper justification and has pledged to exhaust all legal avenues to restore its status.

The suspension marks a significant development in Malaysian politics, affecting the operational capacity of one of the country's major political coalitions at a critical juncture. Legal observers note that the October 22 hearing will be pivotal in determining whether PN can resume normal political activities or face extended restrictions.
