The Colombo High Court rejected the bail applications on October 29, according to the court order issued by the presiding judge. Wickramaratne, who is suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and underworld activities, was among those whose release was denied.
In addition to Wickramaratne, bail was refused for two other defendants in the case. The court also turned down separate applications submitted by defence lawyers seeking the release of two further individuals connected to the matter.
The rejection of these applications means the defendants will remain in custody as the case proceeds through the judicial system. The decision follows investigations into alleged drug trafficking activities linked to the suspects.
The case continues to be heard in the Colombo High Court, with judicial proceedings ongoing against all parties involved.
