Court increases sentence for ex-worker convicted of toddler's death
Malaysia's Court of Appeal has increased the jail term for a former supermarket employee convicted of killing a young child in her care, citing the victim's vulnerability and the caregiver's breach of trust.

The appellate court determined that the original eight-year sentence imposed by Kuantan High Court failed to adequately reflect the severity of the offence and the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
