Colombo Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued notices to the ten medical practitioners who comprised the examination panel after reviewing the CID's petition. The summonses direct the doctors to present themselves in court to provide testimony regarding their assessment of the former SIS chief.

The medical panel's examination of Salley has become a matter of judicial scrutiny, with the CID seeking to clarify details surrounding the evaluation process. The October 6 hearing will provide an opportunity for the magistrate to examine the doctors' findings and procedures.

Retired Maj. Gen. Suresh Salley previously held the position of Director of the State Intelligence Service. The legal proceedings underscore ongoing investigations into matters related to his tenure and subsequent medical assessment.

The summons represents a significant development in the case, as the court seeks to establish the credibility and thoroughness of the medical examination conducted by the panel. The testimony of the ten physicians is expected to provide clarity on the procedures followed and conclusions reached during Salley's evaluation.
