MANILA — A video purporting to show suitcases inside the Forbes Park residence of former House Speaker and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez was presented to the Sandiganbayan during hearings on his bail petition Monday.

The footage was entered as evidence during court proceedings related to Romualdez's plunder case, which involves allegations centered on approximately P7.44 billion. The presentation of the video marked another development in the high-profile case against the prominent legislator.

Romualdez has been detained while the anti-graft court evaluates his petition for bail pending trial. The case has drawn significant attention given the defendant's standing as a former speaker of the House of Representatives and his political influence in the Visayas region.

The Sandiganbayan continues to hear arguments on the bail petition as prosecutors and the defense present their respective evidence and legal positions. The court's decision on bail will determine whether Romualdez remains in custody or is released pending resolution of the charges.
