CPI(M) demands Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary's removal over student protests

The CPI(M) has intensified its criticism of the Tamil Nadu government, demanding the immediate removal of the state's Chief Secretary in connection with a controversial circular regarding student protests. Party leaders announced plans for widespread demonstrations across the state to press their demands.

According to CPI(M) spokesperson Shanmugam, the government circular on student protests represents administrative overreach that warrants stern action against the Chief Secretary. The party views the measure as an attempt to restrict legitimate student activism and democratic participation.

Beyond the circular row, the CPI(M) has also taken issue with another government decision affecting state finances. The party has called on the Tamil Nadu administration to reconsider its recent announcement to provide government vehicles to all Members of the Legislative Assembly, citing fiscal prudence and public interest concerns.

The CPI(M)'s agitation is expected to gain momentum in the coming days, with party workers mobilizing supporters across districts. The party argues that both the student protests circular and the MLA vehicle allocation decision reflect misplaced priorities in governance.
