Crocodile spotted at Pandan Reservoir; water activities halted

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) confirmed the presence of a crocodile at Pandan Reservoir on Monday, prompting an immediate suspension of water-based recreational activities at the site. The agency is currently conducting a search operation to locate and secure the animal.

Based on initial observations, PUB officials assessed that the crocodile is likely an estuarine species, a type commonly found in coastal and brackish water environments across Southeast Asia. The discovery has triggered precautionary measures to ensure public safety at the reservoir.

All water activities, including fishing, boating, and swimming, remain prohibited until further notice. The PUB has advised members of the public to avoid the water and report any sightings of the reptile to authorities immediately.
