CSIR-NGRI launches training programme on magnetotelluric exploration techniques

The National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), a premier research body under CSIR, has launched a comprehensive training programme centred on magnetotelluric (MT) exploration methodologies. Magnetotelluric surveys represent a key geophysical technique used for mapping subsurface geological structures, mineral deposits, and geothermal resources by measuring natural electromagnetic fields.

The training initiative is designed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in implementing MT exploration protocols. Sessions cover fundamental principles of electromagnetic field measurement, data acquisition techniques, processing methodologies, and interpretation frameworks essential for effective subsurface characterisation.
