Chennai Super Kings have traded fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis to Sunrisers Hyderabad in exchange for all-rounders Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards, the IPL organisers announced on Thursday.
The trade marks a significant restructuring for both franchises as they prepare for the 2027 season. CSK will add depth to its middle order and squad versatility with the acquisition of Livingstone and Edwards, while SRH bolsters its pace bowling unit with Ahmed and Ellis.
Khaleel Ahmed, a left-arm fast bowler, and Australian quick Nathan Ellis represent key pace resources for the Hyderabad-based franchise. In return, CSK gains access to Livingstone's batting prowess and Edwards' all-round capabilities, addressing potential gaps in their squad composition.
The trade comes during the off-season window as franchises make strategic adjustments to their rosters. Both teams will hope the moves strengthen their competitive positions for the upcoming campaign, with the player exchanges reflecting contrasting squad priorities heading into 2027.
