CTE exit closure planned for cycling link construction work

Motorists using the Central Expressway should prepare for brief disruptions as authorities implement planned closures to facilitate construction of a new active mobility link. The exit will be temporarily shut on selected dates in October and November to enable works on a pedestrian-cum-cycling pathway that will cross the Pan-Island Expressway.

The new connection forms part of the wider Bishan-to-City Links project, a multi-phase initiative aimed at improving cycling and pedestrian infrastructure across Singapore. The project seeks to establish safer, more convenient routes for non-vehicular commuters traveling between residential areas and the city centre.

Authorities have advised road users to plan their journeys accordingly during the closure periods. Specific dates and times for the temporary exit shutdowns will be communicated through official traffic advisory channels to minimise disruption to peak-hour traffic flows.

The Bishan-to-City Links scheme represents part of Singapore's broader efforts to promote sustainable transport and encourage greater uptake of cycling as a viable commuting option. Upon completion, the new link is expected to provide a safer, more direct route for cyclists and pedestrians in the affected area.
