Cyclone set to batter Andhra Pradesh coast on October 28

Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the impact of an approaching cyclone that is expected to make landfall along the state's coast on October 28. The India Meteorological Department has warned of escalating weather activity, with light showers anticipated across the region on October 25 and 26, before conditions deteriorate significantly.

The most intense phase of cyclone-induced rainfall is expected to commence from October 27, as the system approaches the coastline. State disaster management authorities have activated evacuation protocols for vulnerable populations residing in low-lying coastal areas stretching from Bapatla district to Vizianagaram district.

District administrations along the affected stretch have been directed to move residents from flood-prone zones to safer locations ahead of the cyclone's arrival. The evacuation exercise is expected to cover multiple coastal settlements across the identified districts, with temporary relief shelters being prepared to accommodate displaced families.

Meteorological officials have advised fishing communities to return to shore and avoid venturing into the sea during the warning period. Agricultural departments have been alerted to take precautionary measures to protect standing crops and irrigation infrastructure in the path of the anticipated storm.
