Cygni Energy, Indus Towers join forces on telecom battery storage

Cygni Energy and Indus Towers have entered into a strategic collaboration to design and manufacture Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions tailored for the telecommunications industry. The memorandum of understanding outlines plans to develop production capacity reaching 1.5 GWh, positioning the partnership to serve India's growing energy storage requirements across the telecom sector.

The move reflects mounting demand for reliable backup power solutions among telecommunications providers across South Asia. As telecom operators increasingly seek alternatives to diesel generators for powering network infrastructure, energy storage systems have emerged as a viable option to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

Under the collaboration framework, the two entities will leverage their respective expertise to advance battery storage technology suited to telecom applications. The partnership is expected to support India's broader renewable energy integration goals while providing telecom operators with sustainable power management options for critical infrastructure.

Indus Towers, India's largest tower company with extensive infrastructure across the country, brings established relationships within the telecom sector. Cygni Energy brings specialization in energy storage solutions, enabling the joint venture to address specific power requirements of telecommunications networks operating across diverse geographic regions.
