Cyient shares surge 10% on Q2 results, dividend announcement

Cyient Ltd shares rallied 10% in intraday trading on Monday as investors digested the company's Q2 performance and dividend payout announcement. The stock, which had declined over the previous three sessions, gained momentum following the results release, signaling renewed investor interest in the mid-cap technology services provider.

The company announced a dividend of ₹12 per share for the quarter, rewarding shareholders amid what analysts view as a mixed valuation backdrop. The dividend payment comes as Cyient continues to navigate a competitive technology services landscape.

Meanwhile, research from MOFSL maintained a cautious stance on the stock. The brokerage house reiterated its Sell rating on Cyient, citing a sum-of-the-parts (SoTP) based target price of ₹1,020. This valuation implies a downside of approximately 11% from the stock's previous closing level of ₹1,144, suggesting MOFSL believes current market pricing does not adequately account for underlying fundamental headwinds.

The divergence between short-term buying momentum and analyst recommendations highlights the uncertainty surrounding Cyient's near-term trajectory. Investors continue to weigh the company's quarterly performance against broader sector valuations and growth outlooks.
