D-Mart reports 8.5% profit growth amid strong operational expansion

Avenue Supermarts Ltd reported consolidated net profit of ₹742.98 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with ₹684.85 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, according to regulatory disclosures. The 8.5 percent increase in bottom-line earnings reflects the company's ability to maintain profitability margins despite inflationary pressures and heightened competition in India's retail sector.

Revenue from operations surged 17.8 percent to ₹19,644 crore during the September quarter, up from ₹16,676.30 crore a year earlier. This substantial revenue growth underscores the retail chain's continued market penetration and consumer demand for its offerings of basic home and personal care products across its store network.

Operational expenses during the quarter climbed 18.3 percent to ₹18,632.70 crore, marginally outpacing revenue growth and resulting in the moderated profit expansion. Total income, including other income sources, reached ₹19,657.54 crore, representing a 17.73 percent increase on a year-on-year basis.

For the first half of fiscal 2026-27, Avenue Supermarts recorded total income of ₹38,477.85 crore, up 16.47 percent from the prior-year period. The Damani family-promoted retailer continues to strengthen its position in India's organized retail landscape through steady store expansion and operational improvements.
