Da Nang pursues environmental credentials to strengthen tourism appeal

Da Nang is positioning itself as a leading sustainable tourism destination by capitalizing on its extensive hospitality network, which encompasses more than 2,400 accommodation establishments offering approximately 67,000 rooms.

Local authorities have identified resource efficiency and service quality enhancements as critical factors for strengthening the city's competitive standing in regional and global tourism markets. Green accommodation initiatives are being promoted as a strategic entry point for implementing sustainability measures across the broader tourism value chain.

The push for environmental credentials forms part of a wider development agenda for the city. Recent initiatives include the launch of 100 distinctive tourism experiences planned for 2026 and an expansion of international market connections through roughly 7,000 business linkages, demonstrating Da Nang's comprehensive approach to sector growth.

Integrated planning for sustainable development has emerged as a guiding principle for Da Nang's tourism strategy, according to local officials. By aligning accommodation standards with environmental objectives, the city aims to attract environmentally conscious travelers while establishing a model for responsible tourism development that extends beyond individual hotels to encompass the entire hospitality ecosystem.
