Da Nang is accelerating efforts to establish itself as a leading tourism growth center alongside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, leveraging environmental sustainability as a key competitive advantage. The strategy aligns with national tourism development directives, including Politburo Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW, which designates Da Nang as one of three primary tourism poles driving economic growth across Vietnam.
The city's tourism sector has begun translating development objectives into tangible initiatives aimed at enhancing the destination's appeal to environmentally conscious travelers. These efforts encompass infrastructure improvements, cultural preservation, and diversification of visitor experiences that reflect both the region's natural heritage and local traditions.
Recognizing the growing global demand for authentic and sustainable travel experiences, Da Nang has unveiled an expanded portfolio of 100 distinct tourism experiences designed to attract diverse visitor segments through 2026. The offerings range from cultural immersion activities to nature-based experiences, including revival of traditional practices such as the M'Nong water trough worship ritual, which connects visitors to indigenous heritage.
Industry analysts note that Da Nang's focus on green tourism positioning represents a strategic differentiation from competing regional destinations. By combining environmental responsibility with cultural authenticity, the city seeks to capture premium market segments while building long-term sustainable economic growth in its tourism sector.
The initiative reflects broader efforts across Vietnam's tourism industry to balance visitor growth with environmental protection, positioning the country's destinations as responsible choices in an increasingly competitive global travel market.
