The Democratic Action Party (DAP) is setting its sights on maintaining its current four state assembly seats in Melaka while simultaneously pursuing three additional constituencies as part of the broader Pakatan Harapan (PH) strategy for the upcoming state election.
Party representative Wong Kah Woh outlined the party's electoral objectives, indicating that DAP intends to contest for the three additional seats within PH's allocation. The target constituencies identified are Gadek, Duyong, and Pengkalan Batu, which represent potential expansion opportunities for the party in the state assembly.
The move reflects DAP's confidence in its existing strongholds while demonstrating the party's ambition to strengthen PH's overall presence in Melaka. The three constituencies in question are currently under the coalition's distribution of seats ahead of the state polls.
The allocation of seats within the PH coalition remains a significant factor in determining the final lineup for the election, with negotiations ongoing among the component parties to finalize candidate placements across contested constituencies.
