DAP Member of Parliament Ramkarpal Singh has rebutted suggestions that his party's stance on Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's legal proceedings remains ambiguous, pointing to multiple instances where the party demanded accountability from the Attorney General's Chambers.
Ramkarpal said the party had consistently urged the AGC to provide clarity and justification for its decisions relating to the Yayasan Akalbudi case involving the Umno president. He accused representatives from the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party of being either uninformed or deliberately mischaracterising the DAP's position on the matter.
The DAP lawmaker's remarks underscore ongoing tensions between the coalition partners regarding their approach to high-profile legal cases involving senior political figures. The Yayasan Akalbudi matter has drawn scrutiny from various quarters seeking greater transparency in how such cases are handled by prosecutorial authorities.
