DAP to retain Ayer Keroh seat, no seat swap within Pakatan Harapan

The Democratic Action Party (DAP) will retain the Ayer Keroh constituency in the upcoming Melaka state elections, with no seat exchanges planned within the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, PKR Federal Territories chief Azman Abidin said on Monday.

Azman confirmed that PKR is expected to contest between seven and eight seats in Melaka, in line with the seat-sharing agreement reached by PH state leadership. The allocation remains unchanged following discussions among coalition partners, he added.

The seat distribution reflects the coalition's broader strategy in Melaka, where PH aims to consolidate its electoral prospects through coordinated candidate placement. The confirmation provides clarity on the opposition coalition's preparations for the state election.

Pakatan Harapan has previously governed Melaka before the state fell to Barisan Nasional. The coalition's current approach emphasizes maintaining unity among member parties through adhering to pre-agreed electoral arrangements.
