DAP urges government to set deadline for Sosma amendment bill

The government has signalled its intention to amend the legislation to address these concerns.

Without a firm deadline, the lawmaker's remarks suggest uncertainty remains over when, or even if, the amendments will be tabled for parliamentary debate and consideration.

The Home Ministry has not immediately responded to calls for a specific timetable. The delay in tabling the bill comes amid broader discussions in Malaysia about balancing national security requirements with constitutional protections and civil liberties.
