MANILA – The Department of Agrarian Reform is pushing ahead with efforts to subdivide collective land titles as a major World Bank-financed initiative approaches its completion deadline. Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III said Thursday the agency is operating at full capacity to advance the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project, which aims to convert shared land ownership into individual certificates of title.
The SPLIT project represents a significant undertaking in the Philippines' agrarian reform agenda, offering beneficiaries of land reform programs the opportunity to obtain individual ownership rights over their allocated parcels. By subdividing collectively-held titles, the initiative seeks to enhance land security and facilitate economic opportunities for individual farmer-beneficiaries.
