LEGAZPI CITY — The Department of Agrarian Reform handed over 1,136 land titles to 1,052 agrarian reform beneficiaries across Bicol on Tuesday, formalizing property rights over 1,741.43 hectares of agricultural land. Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III presided over the distribution ceremony held at the Legazpi City Convention Complex in Albay, underscoring the agency's commitment to land redistribution efforts in the region.
The mass titling event represents a significant step toward consolidating land ownership among farming families who have long tilled the soil under agrarian reform programs. Land titles serve as critical documentation that enables farmers to access credit, secure investments, and establish formal property rights over their cultivated parcels.
The distribution reflects ongoing efforts by the Department of Agrarian Reform to complete the titling process for qualified beneficiaries under its various redistribution initiatives. The Bicol region, a major agricultural area in the Philippines, has historically been a focus of agrarian reform activities aimed at addressing landlessness among rural farming communities.
