Van Tonder navigated the challenging course suspended 216 metres above the Mossel Bay area in the Western Cape as part of the Red Bull Bridge Bars initiative, which showcases extreme athletic feats at iconic bridge locations worldwide.

The unprecedented crossing required van Tonder to maintain grip strength and momentum across the entire span of monkey bars rigged beneath the bridge. The event tested not only physical endurance but also mental fortitude, given the extreme height and exposure involved in the challenge.

The Bloukrans Bridge, situated on the Garden Route, is renowned internationally as a premier destination for adventure sports enthusiasts. The bridge has previously hosted other high-profile extreme events and holds the record as the world's highest commercial bungee jumping site.

Red Bull's Bridge Bars series continues to push boundaries in adventure sports by utilising iconic bridges as venues for extraordinary athletic challenges. Van Tonder's successful completion adds to the growing catalogue of record-breaking feats associated with the initiative.
