A chairman of a statutory body, who holds the title of Datuk, is expected to be charged tomorrow following investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) into alleged misconduct related to government land sales.
The MACC previously detained the man along with four other individuals in connection with the disposal of land belonging to the agency at prices significantly below market value. The transaction is alleged to have caused financial losses totalling RM1.96 million.
The case forms part of ongoing MACC investigations into potential corruption and breach of trust within the statutory sector. Authorities have indicated that the charges will be formally presented before the relevant court tomorrow.
The investigation represents continued efforts by anti-corruption authorities to address irregularities in government asset management and procurement processes across public institutions.
