Daylight Saving Time ends tonight; spring forward returns in 2027

Daylight saving time concludes tonight as residents in participating North American regions prepare to set their clocks back by one hour at 2 a.m. local time. The biannual practice, which extends evening daylight during warmer months, will resume in 2027 when clocks spring forward again.

The clock adjustment marks the official end of daylight saving time for the year, returning affected regions to standard time. This means sunrise and sunset times will shift earlier in the evening, with the change taking effect overnight.

Daylight saving time resumes on the second Sunday of March each year, when clocks are advanced one hour. The practice affects most of the United States, parts of Canada, and several other regions, though not all areas observe the tradition.

Residents in regions observing daylight saving time should ensure their clocks are adjusted before going to bed to avoid confusion with morning schedules. Many electronic devices, including smartphones and computers, typically update automatically, though some older appliances may require manual adjustment.
