DBM seeks sevenfold increase in EV program budget for 2027

MANILA — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has submitted a budget proposal seeking P228.92 million for the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Program (EVIDP) in 2027, representing approximately a sevenfold increase from current allocation levels.

The substantial funding request reflects the government's commitment to reducing the nation's reliance on imported fossil fuels while advancing its transition to environmentally sustainable transportation systems. The EVIDP aims to support the development and expansion of the domestic electric vehicle industry through targeted investments and infrastructure development.
