DBS and POSB restore digital payment services after brief outage

DBS Bank and its subsidiary POSB have restored full functionality to their digital payment services after experiencing a brief outage during trading hours. The disruption affected customers attempting to use several core payment systems including FAST, PayNow and SGQR on both the DBS/POSB digibank app and the DBS PayLah mobile wallet.

The bank confirmed that services were restored and that customers could resume their transactions without delay. No details were provided on the cause of the disruption or the exact duration of the outage.

The incident marks a rare service interruption for the banking group's digital infrastructure, which typically handles millions of transactions daily. DBS and POSB's digital payment platforms are among the most widely used in Singapore, serving millions of retail and business customers.

The lender did not disclose whether any transactions were lost or required manual intervention during the service restoration process. Customers experiencing any lingering issues were advised to contact the bank's customer service team.
